Any disadvantage to running 1 3/4" headers on a 302?

I've got an 82 Capri RS 5.0 that has a 89 HO short block, Comp XE266HR cam, Twisted Wedge 170's, RPM air gap, 650 Quick fuel, 89 5.0 T5, 8.8 w/3.73's, I am currently running Ford Racing shorties with a MAC off-road X-pipe, & Flowmaster 3 chamber cat back. The car runs extremly well, but you always want more. I've got a set of BBK 1 5/8" long tubes and a set of BBK 1 3/4" long tubes and a short off-road X-pipe. Would there be any disadvantages in going with the 1 3/4" headers with this combo? I just don't want to go backwards with performance.

You need someone who knows cams. Those headers will work on a 302, but the cam needs to be right for it or you can lose power. I couldn't tell you if that comp will work better with 1 3/4" or not, but I can say I've seen a ton of 302 combos work well with them. You a member on yb? They can tell you the answer to that pretty quickly.

Actually, I just posted this on YB. A couple replies on another site said I would loose torque, but I don't think it would be noticable.
