how much power can you make the t5 trans hold?

how much power can you make the t5 trans handle and still be plenty safe?

would it be cheaper to build up my 1989 t5 or just get a different trans?

i don't want it to be way over kill safe because it'll never have slicks on it (ok once maybe) i'll want my other money to go towards a s/c on my stock (302ci still) 5.0 long block.

It depends on how you drive your car but your better off sending your T5
out to G-Force so they can work their magic to make your T-5 handle
500hp so it should last a long time.

Yeah, I think even the heavy duty T5's from FRPP are only rated at 325 ft lbs or something like that. I'd go the G-Force route or look into a TKO. The TKO 500 & 600, 500 & 600 ft lbs. The T56 6 speed is rated around 450-550 ft lb.

You can order the kit from GForce for 1100 bucks to rebuild yours. The whole tranny is 2000. Dog ears are a little more.
