Filling radio hole with an OEM radio...

I have a '90 GT, no amp under the passenger seat. Would like to put in an OEM radio (love the stock look, don't need the flash of aftermarket) but can't seem to track down the original part number. Anyone know of a list of donor vehicles? I know to stay away from any of the MACH radios due to amplifier madness. If you've done this swap or have any info it would be much appreciated.

I've been looking on fleabay and it seems like most of the fords used the same unit from 90-94 but I'd like to be sure before I pull the trigger...

I think any 90-93 head unit should work as long as you get it with the wiring harness. I went ahead and threw an old DEH1700 pioneer in my car that I had laying around and the old green digital display makes it look pretty nice, not gaudy at all.

I tried finding a stock head unit for a bit but discovered that they are few and far between and are as costly as a new unit out of the box. But you can try at a salvage yard. Those are usually the first things pulled from junked cars.

Check coral or add a post in the want to buy section of any ford forum. I’m pretty sure that radio went in a lot of Ford products from 1990 – 1993.
