help choosing a cam??
hi i have a 1988 mustang lx speed density with the following mods
Underdrive pullies BBK offroad H-pipe to flowmasters BBK CAI BBK headers and i was looking to get a cam sometime soon more likely an aggressive one,can anyone tell me what my options are without going mass air? i heard the stock cam is wild with the right set of RR's? thanks in advance!!! |

E303 is a poor choice even if you had MAF. With SD you'll always have idle issues with that cam. Terrible recommendation.
You need an SD friendly cam. If you don't get any advice from someone who actually owns an SD car and has put a cam in it on here, then call comp cams and tell them what you have and see what they recommend. You basically need to keep stock vacuum at idle or the system will think you're under load and add fuel when it's not needed. |

really? poor? mine runs EXCELLANT at idle..no problems what so ever.

OP, skip out on any letter cam. They suck. The best thing you can do is save your money on the cam, and do a MAF swap.

I did when i chose mine .544 with stock 1.6 rockers so it's like .526 but I went to mass air it was simple

Mass air swap would be the easy way to go. Then you can run any cam you want!!

ya im just trying to save all the money i can for next summer to put into it:p i decided to go with a cam(still dont know which one), maybe 1.7 rr's, trickflow upper/lower intake,3:55s and possibly a chip and tune to smooth it out with the speed density that should get me where i want to be
