idle problem...or just normal??

to start it off..my top end is bran new..5k miles. This includes the trickflow upper and lower intake with space. 75 tb with a cai. Now when i shift my rpms STAY at the rpm i shift at. For example..if i shift at 3k between gears..it stays at 3k even with clutch in til i shift gears..normal?

also...when i come to a stop..my engine will idle at 2k for about 5-6secs b4 dropping to 1k...normal?

thanks guys.

Check the throttle cable. Make sure it isn't binding. If it was sticking the RPM's would stay high until the clutch was engaged and the speed of the transmission would pull the rpms back down some.

I had this problem a few weeks ago and due to a dirty TB. Clean that and your IAC.
