Roller rocker, pushrod?
Going to install proform roller rockers on my car this weekend, are pushrods required to do this?

Im preety sure you can use your stock ones but check and see if your stockers are in good condition. Take each pushrod and roll them on a glass table to see if they roll smooth and make sure they dont have a wabble to them,if they do then you can replace one OR you can get some hardened ones for 30-40 bucks and there better then the OEM's..

Don't put those proforms on your car. They're junk and they come apart pretty often. The needle bearings in them can go though your oil and get into your main and or rod bearings and destroy your engine. I had a set and saw a couple horror stories and ditched them pretty quick after that.

Always check valve train geometry. You may or may not need pushrods, but you will need guideplates. As fogged said, don't use the proforms. Spend money now, and save money later.

The stock pushrods are hardened and should be fine...
as above stated dont use the proform stuff its prone to failure... spend a little bit more and get some Crane, FRRP or Trickflow RR's with the shims. Let us know how you get on setting the valve lash... |

You won't know if the stock pushrods are the correct length unless you check them. Never assume when you're dealing with something where thousands of an inch make a difference.
