1990 lx hatch, First mustang
Im 17 a senior in highschool. just puchased the car ive wanted, ile loved foxbodys since i was very little, neighbor had one and i was attached,
it is a 1990 lx hatch, red interior Not a SPECK of rot, nor a dent, no motor or trans , picked it up for 1700, i want this car up and running before prom, i found a motor, need a T5 trans, and looking for a cowl hood, and possibly some Cobra R wheels? chorme? yes i am a noob, and yes i am young but i Will listen to any advice you have thanks! picks to come! I am in Suffield CT 20 mins from hartford,
i also need a stock rear spoiler, kid who owned the car put a stupid wing on it, that looks like is came from a toyota supra.. like a wale tail almost.. |

If ur lookin for a cheap good motor to build around....well Im guessin you dont know too much about motors or cars in general? But Id build a engine its cheap and u get what u want. Find a good shop and order the parts. Id do a build around a Ford racing boss block. Depends what u plan on doing to it though. Find out what ur HP and Torque goals are then pick ur size, 331, 347, 363, 351, 427...etc. and make sure u take in account if ur going all motor or adding a power adder, Supercharger, Turbo, Twin Turbo, Nitrous, Water-Meth injection...Or U could save up and do a Coyote swap
Either way make sure U do it right the first time so U aint gotta waste money buying stuff over and over. |

Cool deal keep us posted on the process. My dad bought me my first 5.0 when I was 13, and I worked and saved and bought my own car at 15. 1990 GT with 56k miles. Oh to be young again.

i built a 2.9 engine for my ford ranger, pulled it cleaned it honed it, new pistons rods and had the valvs ported , rebuilt injectors, fresh plugs wires the whole 9 yards and fuel pump, i already have a bored 302 for the car, e303 cam, gt40p heads bbk upper and lower intakes 30lb injectors, bought it from my neighbor who put a 351 in his car and sold me the motor cheap

it is still 4 lug, i bought a cheap set of ten hole rims from a guy in town with tires for 100 bucks just to roll the car around on

yes the 2.9 is back in the ranger and is my daily driver, about 3000 miles on the motor got licence in july, i take it all over ct and mass into NH for races, 250 B class, and the 2.9 hasent failed me yet
