ive got a question .you see all these cars with superchargers on them these days but how many miles do they really last for .do you haft to get them rebuilt really often if your only running about 8 lbs of boost.

It all depends on the quality of the supercharger and how hard you run it. Today's superchargers are made from better materials and with better technology. They should, with the occasional romp, last as long as the engine. You should change the oil often. If you get a supercharger that scavenges oil from the engine, the possibilities of contamination are higher, so then the longevity of the supercharger will also depend on the integrity of the engine. Rule of thumb would be 10000 hours at full boost. Thats 300 and something days without letup. Take into consideration that you probably will only be using a percentage of full boost even at WOT, and the fact that you will only occasionally be at WOT unless it is a strip only car. Of course like the first statement says it depends on quality and anything mechanical and man made can break at anytime even if one just like it lasts forever.

is vortech a good supercharger for a daily driver ,i dont want to run much boost just 8-10 lbs or something like that .but i want my car to be very dependable ,the motor will not be stock .
