331 stroker or 351

What would be pros and cons of going with a 331 stroker or just building a 351? I have the trickflow street heat top end kit. 70mm trickflow throttle body and 30lb injectors with 75mm mass air. Any suggestions? Car will mostly be a dd.

If you keep the 351 stock stroke, then the 331 would probably be faster. Although if you're going to stroke a 302, you might as well go for a 347 instead of a 331. Unless you plan to spin it up well past 7k you're not going to have any issues with a 347 as compared to a 331. If you stroke the 351, then it's a no brainer. More cubes, block can handle more power. If you've got the cash to do the swap and stroke the 9.5 deck, do it.

I'd say if you already have a 302 block then stoke it because you can reuse your top end kit unlike a 351 where you'll have to get a new intake and headers to fit the block.

Well that depends on what intake he has. If it's not a good intake, there's no use in waisting money on the stroker kit. So, he may have to buy that stuff anyways to make the stroker even worth it.

I have trickflow top end kit. I was leaning toward the stroker for that reason of already having everything. I just wanted to see if there was anything that would make it better to go with 351. Thanks for the input guys.

Honestly, you might only see a 20rwhp gain going from a 302 to a 347.... you need a better combination to make a stroked motor worth it.

Maybe this is a better question. I have trickflow street heat top end kit, cold air, 75mm mass air, 70mm throttle body, 30lb injectors 190lph fuel pump, adj fuel reg. Electric fan, Mac pro chamber h pipe no cats and flows and 3.73 gears 5 lug conversion. I have already budgeted for headers and bigger aluminum radiator, clutch and harmonic balancer. so with all that I was wanting to do the 331. If I don't do 331 I would still need to buy pistons bout 500 bucks. Stroker kit cost 1000. If y'all don't think my top end kit is good enough for stroker or is not worth the money what would y'all get with the extra 500 dollars?
