87 gt shakes at 50mph?

Hey guys I have a 87 gt that I just finished rebuilding. When I get up to about 50 or right into 5th gear the rear end starts shaking I don't know what the cause of it is help?

The same thing is happening to me in my 89, at about 60 and gets bad above 70. I think the u-joints are worn, replacing them tomorrow. Ill tell you how it turns out.

make sure the wheels are balanced or not bent, i work at a tire shop and ppl always have this problem. it could be something else but u could have it checked for 20 bucks

what snow said, i had the same problem with a bent draglight. could not figure it out for anything.

I replaced the u-joints today, the old ones had barely a perceivable amount of play in them, but replacing them solved the vibration problem 100%. I was able to press the new caps in by hand which kinda concerns me though.
