egr delete problems

hi I chose to delete my egr for problems I've had and it's ugly as crap. I bout a chip to delete it from the computer and plte to replce the egr. Then I unhookd my battery. My scanner is reading my check engine light indicates my egr is still not working right. What's my next move? And please don't say go back to the egr setup cus that's out of the uestion.

I have an 87 so no check engine light. I deleted all smog and the egr. no problems. I get a code but I know what it is so who cares LOL

You can remove your light bulb if thats all that bothers you.

When the EGR is unplugged, the computer omits it from the tune. That check engine light isn't going to hurt anything. If you bought a chip that's supposed to diasble the EGR in the tune and you've still got that code, then I would send that chip back as defective.

RJM Injection sells a little plug with a built in resistor that fools the computer in thinking the EGR is still there. I bought one but never installed it because I went ahead and bought a new engine harness that already has it built in. I will sell it if you are interested. Save you a few bucks. Let me know...
