quick smog pump question.

ok i know this has been talked about alot. but one question no one has answered is is there any way to leave the smog pump in there and just bypass it with a short belt? to where it was just sitting there. also if i had to take it out. the tube that goes to the back of the heads can i just crimp and weld that shut and leave it there? i have an o/r h-pipe with super 44s i want to put in there. the tube that hooks on to it is crimped and welded shut. and if i were to remove it. can someone tell me about exaclty how to do it. its a completely stock 5.0 thanks for all the help!!

just bypass the pump with a shorter belt, just picked up my stang today & that is what the mechanic did for me & I have no problems.
I live in Houston & my car is an 88 stang & smog pump is not needed to pass inspection here on that model car.

To remove the cross over pipe all you need to do is remove two bolts and it comes right off. Then you put to plugs in the threaded holes that the cross over tube was covering up.

I forget the size of the two plugs you'll need to buy to put in the place of the cross over tube. If no one post it. Then I'll do some research and post it another time
