70 mm TB??? Looking for opinions...
My mods are as follows... Cold air, 76 mm MAF, Paxton SN93 around 8-9 psi, Explorer TB/upper/lower intake, GT40p heads, X303 cam, BBK 1 3/4 long tubes, BBK H pipe, 5 speed, 3.73 gears... I think that should cover it, wondering if finding a used 70 mm TB is going to be a worth while endevour?
Thanks |

It wont hurt...And gives you room to grow some more. You might feel a bit of a difference appose to the tb you have. Not sure the size of the stock explorer (It might be 70mm)I will Let someone else answer that...If it is then just stick with what you have unless your going for looks as there are many polished units that look pretty cool.

What ever size you get just make sure the opening on the intake is the same size or bigger. Port match it,if have to.

I would go for a 75mm since you already have the 76mm MAF. Like the guy above me has said, more room for future mods! You may not gain a whole lot from it but from my experiences more flow = more go.

stock explorer is 65mm, the opening on the upper intake measures out to around 67-68mm ish. The other thing i was contemplating about was that the outlet from the supercharger only measures approx. 69.85mm (2.75 in.)

In your case, I don't really see that extra 5 mm doing you a whole lot. At least not enough to justify spending over $100.
