Lighting issue

Hey guys I'm hoping you all can help me with this headlight issue. After about a month of me buying my car my lights started cutting off while I was driving it would happen after i drove for a while. They would cut off and come back on after about 10secs. After i put my HIDS in it stopped for a while then a few months later the tail lights stopped coming on so unchained the light switch then my headlights wouldn't come on. I did get my switch from a junk yard though both time I did change it again recently. Anybody have any ideas? Has anybody had this happen to them b4?

Do you use your fog lights when you are driving? If so it is typical with some of the gt's (my 92 does it then the only way to get the lights to work is to hold the high beams). When running the headlights and the fog lights at the same time it over heats the circuit and turns the lights on and off. They sell a kit that has thicker gauge wire or you can fuse the fog light wires. If this sounds like the issue you were having try driving with the fog lights off and see if that fixes it.

That is a common problem with fox body stangs.
The cure is to use a heavier gauge wiring for your headlights , if you plan to drive with the fogs lights on.
As stated by a previous poster , you can by a new wiring kit or drive just with your headlights only.
