Car cranks, but dies as soon as i let off key switch
My 91' GT fires up, but dies when i let off the key. If i hold just enough pressure on the key to keep car running, gauges on, but not enough to engage starter, the car runs fine. Ive looked @ the switch theres 1 wire coming off the key switch. I was wondering if anyone knows where that wire goes or if something inside the switch could have gone bad. I have see a lot with these cars, but never seen this.
Any help would be appreaciated.

If you're looking at the key barrel that wire is the keysense wire. It just senses when you put the key in the ignition and activates the chime. You have to pull the under dash panel off to see the actual ignition switch. The key barrel activates a rod that pushes on the actual ignition switch which is under that panel. You'll see it pretty easily when that panel is off. It has a bunch of thick gauge wires in it. Chances are this is your issue. They're known to go bad in this exact manner on these cars.

My car did the same exact thing. There's a big electrical connector thing up in there. Mine was loose and couple zip ties did the trick.
