engine swapping

This might be a stupid question, but I have to ask. I'm planning on buying a mustang soon and i was wondering if i went with an lx model and swapped it the motor out to a 4.6, how much work am I looking at? Especially if i'm going from an ObDI to and ObdII engine harness?

you will need the complete wiring harness form a 4.6 modular car. thats the only way it it will work. you wont be running he 4.6 on the 5oh computer equipment. its a pretty easy swap and lots of poeple have done. just need the entire wiring harness and ecu from the 4.6 vehicle and put it in the notch

well to answer his question, i found a cheap 94 body with no dents selling for less than 2 grand and i found a 2001 mustang cobra motor for 4 grand. Hopefully that explains his question.

I would buy the newer 4.6 from the Cobra because it is a DOHC and the block is an Iron block capable of holding up to 1000hp with Forged pistons and is one of Ford's strongest engines

new cobra motors are dohc, but i thought that all cobra motors are dohc. please educate me some more on the difference between the cobra motor and the gt. I know the cobra has more horses in it.

all cobras 96+ have DOHC 4v motors and the 03/04's were s/c, 96-2004 GTs have SOHC 2v motors, 2005+ GTs have SOHC 3v motors.

no the 03/04 cobras are DOHC 4v's, when i said s/c, that meant they are supercharged from the factory. like the new GT500 is, but it is a 5.4l DOHC 4v. not confusing you am i?
