Put in another motor.

So this weekend and the prior weekend, my dad and I embarked on a mission to take a motor out of a 96 e-150 and put it in my car. We got both of the motors out in a weekend, and had started taking parts of the old motor to put on the e-150 motor. we actually completed the swap this weekend, and man, it was worth it.

The car has a slight exaust leak, though, and we pinpointed it down to the flange. Not only this, but we had also known that the bell housing was cracked when we had first taken the motor out of the car a month ago to replace a crank we thought had been causing a knock.

After a lot of hard work this past weekend, we ended up having the motor put in the car. after some timing change, the car fired up and ran 100x better than before. I also noticed that when looking for the bell housing on AM, the transmission i have looks very similar to that of the tremec-500; whatever sub-category it's specified under. Hopefully this thing hasnt been abused as much as the motor, but I'll end up putting the tender loving care into the tranny as needed anyway.

I am pretty happy that the car is in working order, for now. We do have a couple more issues to fix, other than the bell housing, and should have this thing in nice working order by january of next year when I get the rest of my funds.

Haha yeah it was a very large and substantial amount of work we did this weekend. we went from about 10am to 1 am. Worth it in so many ways, though.

Wow. Ya that's a lot of work. It took me' a month and half to do my engine swap. Lol. But I did do it all by my self. But some of that time was waiting for parts to come in. But on the other hand I only had to pull one motor and one tranny. The new engine was just sitting on a stand. I think even if I had help I still wouldn't have had it done in two weekends. It was my first engine swap though. Any ways good job

Haha yeah. We had also done the complete motor swap when we put the new crank in over the weekend span. So much work. Like i said though, ultimately worth it. just need a new fuel pump since this one sounds like its coughing up a lung.

We actually used the other motors cam and heads, and the firing order was 1,3,7,2,6,5,4,8. It had the 351w firing order. We set it up like that and it worked like a charm. Nothing seems to be wrong with what we did, so I guess it worked
