5.0 combo question

hey everyone..new to the forum and looking for some help..
just bought an 87 5.0 with a stock bottom end, f-cam, edelbrock performer intake and aed 650 carb and stock iron heads that have been worked (ported/polished and maybe upgraded valve springs as far as i know).i have 6.800 pushrods and i need to know if this combo will work without any PTV clearance issues and what ratio rocker arm i need to go with..hope this is enough info to get this thing up and running strong
thanks

6.80 pushrods? How did you come up with those? I beleive stock 5.0 pushrods are 6.25.

6.800 is stamped on the pushrods. found out the previous owner had tftw 170 heads with 1.7 rockers and the f cam. i got the worked e7te heads from a friend because the tf heads didnt come with the car. now im trying to figure out if the f cam is going to be too much for the e7 heads

I'm willing to bet your valvetrain geometry is all messed up. I'd get a pushrod measuring tool ($8) and measure for correct pushrod length first, before you put some serious wear and tear on that valvetrain.

so once i get the correct pushrod length, what about the aggressive f cam and stock heads? (theyve been ported/polished/dual valve springs) combination as far as power goes because im guessing the tftw 170 heads flowed alot better and complimented the cam better than the stock ones will.

Twisted wedge heads require longer pushrods than stock ones. Those 6.8's will be way too long... As far as using the f cam with stock heads, it's been done plenty of times. It's not a radical cam by any means. It's also not a very good cam either.. Impossible to tell you how well it will work with your heads without flow numbers if they're ported.

well im going to stick with the stock ported heads for now for budget reasons. so i guess my next question would be a cam recommendation to get the most out of what i have.
-so would flow testing be the best advice to recommend a cam?
-the car has an aed 650 4 barrel carb, edelbrock performer intake, (bbk?) shorty headers, h-pipe with no cats, flowmasters, c4 trans with 4.10 gears, all msd ignition components. (hope this helps)
