Is the bolt missing or is it broke off in the cylinder head ? I have only swaped header with the engine out ofthe car so I have no idea witch side is harder to work on

I'd try to get a tap to thread in correctly before you try again. If you can't then

Loosen all the other bolts off a few turns, replace missing bolt, tighten all bolts. Headers tend to that if you don't snug them up occasionally.

OK i had a couple hours between classes today and tried losen all the bolts but can't get it lined up loosened the headers from the hpipe also no luck. I think I'm going to have and take the whole thing apart unless u have any other ideas? Do u think i will hurt anything by driving it over the weekend it doesn't seem to be leaking alot but can hear that it is.

well i got the header back took about 4 hours had to take all the exhaust off. But started the car and now i noticed i have a horrible ticking sound, thought it was a leak but everything was tight. So now I guess i have to take it in to a mechanic. Its coming from the top of the motor on the driver side head, any ideas and how much on average it is to fix, im a broke college kid. Starting to think the guy i bought her from lied about the rebuild this is not the best dd love the car but its problem after problem.

That's the thing with 20 year old cars. There going need money. I'd never recommend a 20 year old car as dd . Unless every thing has been replaced or your a master at working on cars. I think of these cars as fun weekend project cars. Nothing more. Just my opinion

So the tick just started? Did you replace the header gasket?

I bought a set of jet hot coated hedman hedders and they look great and bolted up easily. pretty cheap too. if you just call jet hot you can order them direct from them. a lot cheaper than getting ceramic coated hedders direct.
