ODD question, please help


Between the engine and bellhousing, there is a thin meatl plate not sure what its fore but all i know is i dont have one and i would like to findout if its needed before i begin putting the flywheel on and clutch,
please let me know, and if it is needed what is the name ?

I know what your talking about, and i have one on my car, not sure what its for. But i would say that you need it. i think there less then 50 bucks from summit

is it the rock cover? so rocks dont get in there and dust and shit?

If you don't have it you will break the ear off of the starter in a short time. The hole for the starter actually supports the thrust of the starter. I tried running without and found this out first hand!

it is called a blocking plate and it is important. not only does it space out the transmission from the engine just slightly it is also an alignment tool for the starter. it uses the dowells on the block to line the starter up. ive gotten away without them but its not worth the hassel clean it up and put it in. it goes on befor the flywheel too.
