Question about clutch/clutch cables on a 95 5.0

So, I just purchased a procharged 95 gt today and already broke something. It has the stock transmission with a spec stage 3 clutch. So, while driving her she all of a sudden would not go into gear and the clutch went weak. Like it can be pushed down easily by hand. It's dark out, so I can't really do anything about it right now, but would like to get some input on what you guys think it might be. I'm hoping it's just the clutch cable. Any input is appreciated.

does the clutch pedal spring back or does it stay to the floor? If the cable snaps, it will stay to the floor. Just get the ford racing cable and you'll be all set. If you need to upgrade the clutch cable quatrant and add a fire wall adjuster, now is the time to do it. I imagine that it has those things already if it has a procharger

I think the Ford unit can be had a little cheaper but you'll have to look around. I keep a spare on hand

The pedal does come back up, it just doesn't do anything or have resistance when depressed. I called the previous owner last night and he said it is the stock clutch cable still in it. I appreciate the help though. I plan on trying to get it to the auto hobby shop on base here to get in there and see what's wrong.
