seat weight

anyone know how much a foxbody leather seat weigh? i'm tyring to calculate how much weight i'm reducing by replacing those seats with racing seats. the racing seats i'm getting is supposedly light weight racing seats that weigh only 22lbs. thanks if anyone knows.

I want to say that they are around 35 lbs w no electrics. I just had mine out.

I don't know for sure as I would have had to weigh them. Do you have factory seats? If so, take one out and compare your weight on a scale while holding a seat vs. not holding a seat.

it's 46lbs.

but if u want to be very accurate about it it's 45.6 lbs.

MIne were around 35lbs and that is with the manuel seat bracket. My aftermarket seat was about half the weight.

yea those foxbody leather seats are heavy as hell. what kind of aftermarket seats did u get? i got the cypher racing seats, it weighs 29 lbs.. not really happy with it. i was hoping it was 20lbs. and it's cheaply made.

i was actually thinking about the buddyclub seats. the seats look sorta rice rocketish but it only weighs 11lbs.

Of course GT seats weigh a lot. They had a lot of things in them...They had a lot of functions.They wernt these cheap ass things they put in now. Im not sure what year the GT seats lost there personality. it was either 1992 or 1993. I personally love my seats and all there functions. it seems the only advantage the newer seats have over these older ones is weight....it just my opinion
