Help with plan of attack

I got an 83 mustang and would like some ideas/oppinions. I've taken the car to 3 places to have the chassis checked and all 3 say no signs of damage. No computer or measurements, just eyeballed.

My plan is go through most of the car and fix it up. 5 lug conv., new motor, new trans, new diff, new interior, 91-93 fender, sub frame connectors, etc. This car is a daily driver. I was planning a back to front, bottom up approach. I feel a bit flustered thinking about where to begin now.

I'm not sure. But I'd do some research to make sure your wheels will still line up in the center of the wheel wells before you go spending money on the newer fenders. I'm guess you want 17in wheels ?

Why did you have the sub frames checked out was it wrecked ? If you went through the effort of taking it to 3 different shops to have it looked at, why didn't you just take it to one place and have it checked on a frame machine ?

YEAH, different, bigger RIMS. Believe it or not I couldn't find anybody with a "frame machine"...
I also seem to find the bend-you-over-sorts, so wether I'm not fixing stuff that ain't broke, or not paying for stuff I don't want/plan on upgrading, its been a bit of a hassle.

I had the chassis checked because I don't want to strengthen a tweaked chassis...

Any body shop that's been doing business in the past 20 years should have a frame machine. It sounds like you took your car to shops with some lazy employee's.

Yeah.. Make sure you take it somewhere reputable. Preferably if you know of a good mechanic around. I took my car to get my strut checked out and the guy at les schwab tried to convince me my front axle was bent.. lol

To start: FL subframe connectors, grab an 8.8 out of a newer fox, grab hubs, spindles, brakes and axles from a 1994 or 1995 only mustang theres ur 5 lug and rear wheel disc setup, while ur under there call maximum motorsports and order the 5 stainless steel brake hoses. Very nice pieces i might add i just put em on myself, ur gonna need a bigger master cylinder and a brake proportion valve. They reps at mm will tell u all the stuff u need.

Driving it back from an alignment shop, it started losing power. Stopped at a light I see a puff of smoke come out. So I pull down a back street, lift the hood, and the engine is smoking and oozing black stuff out of the valve covers and intake manifold.

...fast forward past the waiting over 2hrs for a tow......

Mom asks me to drive her to get her vitamins...sure mom...
Stopped in traffic we get rear ended... my hat flew off my head into the back seat...it was a pretty solid hit.
She calls her insurance guy and explains what happened. He tells her to have her car checked by a place. We get there, the guy looks it over and explains she should have the chassis checked by a computer there...

The end.

MM xl subs should be here tomorrow. thanks though, I honestly appreciate all the advice(especially the advice I agree with)
...a bent front axle? Sounds bad...could you get by without it?:...
