Question

Cut the Exhaust?

So I was thinking about cutting the mufflers off my Gt. Besides the sound change, is there going to be any repercussions on the engine? ie not enough compression etc... I heard that open headders have that problem so I wasn't sure if I would get the same problem with no mufflers.

Do you still have the cats on your exhaust system ? I don't think you'll hurt any thing. What's the point of removing the mufflers ?

No, there aren't any cats. Im planning on putting dumps on it, but can't quite afford everything right now so I was just curious to see if running it without mufflers was going to do anything. I've had some people tell me that it attracts unwanted attention from the other 5-0 too

It will attract extra attention, and lots of it. Go to youtube and search for "mustang no mufflers" at anything above half throttle the car will be screaming

removing the mufflers does nothing except increase the noise. i removed mine when i installed a Team Z rear suspension kit, and was to lazy to reinstall them. currently running open x-pipe without cats. its loud, but i like it. its not my daily so i dont really care about the loudness
