Yea i planned on keeping the stock block, i plan on making about 500hp. As far as my price range i would like to keep the engine work under a couple grand because the car needs some body work and a paint job. Its an 88 lx with a carburated 5.0.

If your keeping your stock block you might want to rethink your 500 number. The stock block are notorious for splitting down the middle at around 500 hp. If reliability is something your shooting for then I would aim more for the 450 range. If you still want your 500 then I would go for an upgraded dart boss block or an R302 block.

Yeah CHP have good sales and they reduced their prices.. they have some very good stuff.. I bought my SCAT 331 and my other Eagle 347 from CNC Motorsports cuz their prices are good and they also offer free shipping.. do some more research.

+1. Out of those blocks I would get the Boss. The two bolt dart is a little cheaper, but the Boss is a four bolt. The r302 is a four bolt, but a little more expensive than a Boss. Like 400 bucks more expensive. Lot cheaper to lower your hp expectations to 425 or 450.
