might just be tight from the fresh rebuild.
be sure you call them and see what they say. tell them it feels tight. might not want to tell them you beat on the car. just tell them you where getting on the highway and it didn't seem to get up to speed as easy as it use too.

different as in it's clean and they must have swapped it out, or different as in a entirely different type of transmission such as a C4?

Everytime I see the picture of your car in your sig, it reminds me of when I first got mine. oh the rape and pillaging I've done to this car

make sure you get a BIG cooler at the same time.
I would even rig up a small fan on it to run constantly so it cools it while in traffic. My AOD ate itself pretty quick.... now I have a T5

What kind of cooler do you suggest? Do you think the 2800stall and the pa vavlebody be too much for a mild daily driver/weekend warrior lol?And if so, what do you suggest??

to be cheap, you can get a transmission cooler off of a van from the junkyard. almost any brand should work.
When I went looking there where old ecoline van's with OEM transmission coolers twice the size of some "performance" ones I've seen sell for $100, and the junkyard wants like $12. that's what I would do. 2800 stall is about as high as I would go with a stock cam and heads. Your powerband is limited up to about 4500rpm when the car is pretty much done making power. so 2800-4500 is a pretty good RPM range . that and some 4.10 gears, and you could probably take a entire second off your 1/4 mile.

I already have the 4.10's(rear wasrebuilt in january).Should i get the pa vavlebody too,or just a shift kit??.With nothing but 4.10's,14* timing bump, and a 76mmMAF it ran a 14.9 on real crappy tires..With d/r's and the new stall how big of a difference do you think ill see??

![]() so valve body would be nice, but not needed IMO. drag radials and a stall I bet you will see low/mid 14's. should be worth half a second at minimum.

AOD transmissions can be very good but they are expensive to get there. A well built aod cost about as much as the third broken t5 so if you have the vehicle for more than a year it's a better deal! The late transmissions are considerably better because to build a good aod you have to rob one of them for parts. Some of the good aod parts are rare and getting harder and harder to find every day. The biggest expense that makes aod's so much more than a 4r70w is the valvebody. For big power the lentech is the only way to go. Everything else I suggest silverfox valvebodies. Shift kits are ok for a stock transmission but more people have trouble putting them in and kill a transmission than it is worse. I have seen experienced transmission mechanics get burnt by a shift kit that wouldn't work right on an aod. I myself had a transgo that just wouldn't work, direct failed over and over. I changed the valvebody and it has been working ever since. Couldn't find a problem and decided to just use valvebodies instead of kits from then on.
