Im about to freak out

So on my way to work yesterday my LX starts to slip in and out when its in overdrive.Im assuming the overdrive band is shot.Real nice,considering i just paid 1,200 in july to get it rebuilt!.Anyway just thought i would bitch about it before i call the shop.Not a good way to start the day.

just a thought but just do this 4R70W Swap Tech I see these trannys in the junk yard for about 250 and will handle a lot more power than the aod or aode

My problem is i just got this thing rebuilt 4 months ago for 1,200 bucks,so im pretty pissed at the moment.

I drive about 25 highway miles to work everyday,so without overdrive its not much fun with 4.10's doing 60mph@3,500rpm's!

did the place that rebuilt it give you any kind of warrenty and also I was doing some reading and was ur tv cable adjusted right ?

Im about to call them,so ill let you know what they say.Hopefully they do the right thing and fix it.I hope the tv cable was adjusted right.At that time i thought the tv cable was out of adjustment,but the tranny was going.

yeah no shit.Ive had a few foxes over the years,and this one is the biggest money pit ive ever owned.I knew what i] was getting into when buying an older car,but damn ive replaced just about everything on this lx,and the list keeps getting longer

lmao I here ya there I have replaced everything under my hood other than the horn lmao and now I am selling most of it off as I am going to a blow through e85 carb setup so now I wont need any of the electronics lmao

Ive got over 8500 into this thing,and ill never even get half back.I bought this one in haste after my gt got totaled by a drunk driver.I didnt wait when i got the insurance money and ran out and bought this without really shopping around.My mistake.

Dont quote me on this and someone correct me if im wrong. I am very familiar with the SN95 bodystyle. As far as the boxstyle, not as much...

I know the A9L, X3M and A9P computers used in the box style mustangs have no transmission controls. Therefor it will be controlled by vacuum or cable for passing gear.

I would double check to makesure that the vacuum line(If applicable) is not leaking. When you open up the throttle to accelerate, vacuum drops. Therefor if you have a vacuum leak and low vacuum your transmission will be trying to downshift, correct?

If that isnt the case then id be worried.

No im pretty sure o/d is shot.It was making a growning noise going into o/d a few days before broke.Its weird cause,i can put it into o/d and when it shifts into o/d its ok till about 2,000 rpm's then it begins to slip.Idk i hope it gets fixed,cause in january(income tax loot)im getting a dirtydog 2800stall,and a pa vavlebody installed

foxbody aod's are garbage! they never shift right and they never last especially if you put some power to them. im not an auto guy but i have a bunch of buddies that run turbos on their fox's and swear by the aode found in the 99 and up mustangs. these guys are running 500hp + with no issues so they gotta be good. just a suggestion.

WooHoo,shop called and my cars done.I asked them what exactly went wrong with the trans,and he replied "There was a number of things wrong with the old one,so we put a new one in".Not sure if he meant brand new or newly rebuilt.I'll have to ask when i get there.Thank god i have a 12month/12,000mile warranty on the tranny.

Nice. It's good to hear there's still shops out there that will make good on their work when problems arise. Too many shops are concerned with getting your money the first time around these days.
