Possible newb trouble

I recently picked up an 86 5.0 as a project car and didn't poke around the engine to much. The only thing i cared about was that it ran and drove. It has a squeal on start up so I figured it was the alternator. Well under further inspection, I noticed it does not have a belt tensioner. I bought a belt tensioner and pully. but I'm not quite sure how to bolt it up.

I noticed while searching for parts that some tensioners came with a bolt. But of course this one didn't.

Since I am currently going to mechanic school, I have access to Alldata and Mitchell, but they have no instructions on tensioner install.

So I guess my questions/theories are:
Where you would but the 3/4 drive to relieve tension, the bolt goes on the opposite side which is connected to a bracket, which is connected to the alternator? If anyone has any close up pictures or a detailed instruction on how to go about putting one in that would be great.

Thanks a lot for the help and I hope I made myself clear.

Im sorry for doubting you, but there is no sense behind removing a tensioner. If it were missing the belt would have soo much slack it wouldnt be able to be installed? The tensioner goes between the alternator and smog pump (if applicable) and I dont believe its a 3/4 drive hole, its probably a 3/8 or a 14-15mm wrench right onto the bolt holding the pulley on. Double check.

Believe me I know its pointless to remove the tensioner... I would never have done that. But the belt does have slack, so he might have at least installed a shorter belt.

The tensioner should be a simple bolt on, but my main question is what size bolt holds the tensioner on? what grade, thread, bolt, head size is it? Any help is greatly appreciated.
