4cyl to v8 Conversion advice.

I have an '89 4cyl convertible that I'm looking to put a 302 in.

I got the car when I was 14, my uncle did all the paint work. I drove it a little bit before it started having tranny problems. I always intended on converting it to a v8 I just never did.

Now I have the time and money to do it (11 years later).

Im looking for advice that will make the conversion as simple as possible.

I've found a bunch of motors on craigslist, but the fact that I can't hear them run bothers me. Id rather spend a couple more bucks to make sure it runs. Ideally Id like to find a whole donor car. If I do is there any certain year that works best?

I want the motor to be fuel injected and the car is automatic so id like to keep it automatic just to keep it simple.

any input is appreciated!

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRNNNNNNNGGGGGEEEEE.....

A 91-93 would be my wish. Just swap everything over.

Also, from what I've read, convertibles benefit greatly from sub frame connectors. Something about the chassis flexing more. I have no personal experience to back it up or anything other than internet talk.

Don't get an engine from a 1986 mustang. It was the first year of fuel injection but the engine sucked. It has some thing to do with the pistons and heads, if I'm remembering right.
