No power

Hey guys i recently built a motor for my 91 gt. The bottom end is stock it has gt40p heads, explorer intake, lt headers, 70mm throttle body, 24lb injectors, 1.7rr, and a e303 cam. The car isnt running much faster than it did with the factory motor. I talked with a mechanic and he said the throttle body might be to large so i tried my factory one and it didnt change much. Any suggestions on how to make it faster with what i have would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

Fuel pressure? Were the heads rebuilt? Worn out heads/valve springs will make a very big difference in performance. My last fox had over 200k on the motor and i swappeud the heads out for some fresh rebuilt e7's and it picked up ALOT of power. Just a suggestion.

What about the fuel rails? Are they from the old setup? Check those for obstructions.

How much faster is it? That combo should be close to 300hp vs stock 225.

Check the fuel lines too, maybe change the filter...

I've seen some kind of Goo/gum stuff that plugs filters. I got a lot of it out of an inline can and seen it in a clear, see through filter. The stuff seems to not get pushed through even though its liquid like. It doesn't break down in gas either.

C&l maff meters are known to have problems. that would be the last brand of maff id ever use. im not playing, they suck, Try putting your stock maff and 19lb injectors back in, to see if it gets better

When you mean its not much faster? What difference did u feel at all? Thats a nice peppy combo. With your combo you should be running alot better up top around 60-120. Are you running stock exhaust and cat?

The fuel rails are stock. ill have to check them out when i swap back to the 19lb injectors and stock mass air. As far as power its alittle better than stock but not anywhere close to what i would have thought. the exhaust is bbk longtubes and a o/r x pipe.

check your fuel pressure, it should be 39 psi with vacuum line blocked off/ engine running, and for the hell of it check your codes, it only takes 5 min to do
