I've never heard if doing that but I'm new to the drag world. Seems odd to me

Usually it's the other way around, smaller circumference rim in the back. Doesn't really matter though, there's plenty of decent tire choices for 16" rear rims. Nothing wrong with staggering rim size as long as you like the way they look. 1" difference is going to be hardly noticeable.

I don't thing weld makes 16s. They're probably knockoffs. All weld wheels have Weld Racing stamped on them.

that's what i was thinking too fastback. he did take a picture of the dragwelds stamp on the rims, but i think he only took the picture from the 15 skinnys and not the rears.

Weld did make a 16" wheel. I had a set of draglites on a 93 Coupe. I used 15X3.5"s on the front, but I went with the 16s on the back only because I could still use the tires that came on the stock wheel and didn't have to buy another set.

It is verry common for people to run this actually. Not saying its the correct thing to do. But they do it cuz it gives them the old school muscle slant. even better will kill your cornering performance.
