N/a car...which cam to use???

what would you say is the best cam for this setup as a "STREET CAR" no track time, Naturally asperated with spray??? not going to go custom as of yet! will change out the cam for future mods.

Low mileage Stock 302 bottom...170cc twisted wedges with either 1.6 or 1.7 roller rockers, Holley Systemax 2 with 2" spacer, 70mm TB, 75mm Egr Spacer, 80mm mac maf, 30# injectors, fender cold are intake, Mac long tubes 1 3/4 to 3" prochambers out 2 1/2 into flowmaster-side dumps and a set of 3.55 gears...

I run a stock 89 short block, Twisted Wedge 170's, with a Comp XE266HR cam, carburated, in my 82 Capri, and it runs outstanding. I drive it all the time in the summer, runs great, awsome power, idles away from a dead stop without any hesitation. I love this cam.

With the XE266 I'd go with 1.6 ratio, because the cam already has .544/.555 lift. I've been running 3.73 gears.

I just bought a custom cam 214/218 @ 50 565/555 1800-6000 rpm. We will see how it works out. I am going o run 1.7 rockers so it makes it 600/590 lift. Looks like I need new springs for my edelbrock heads!

Those long tubes are going to hurt your low end and midrange.
1 5/8 to a 2.5" collector... Tho for mild engines shorties work better.
As for the cam, I'll have to agree with an xe266

The long tubes are 1 3/4"...

Im leaning to either a Andeson N-41 or Comp XE274 maybe 276 but not sure how it will react with my 3.55's and T5. I do drive alot on the highway and spray on occasion but down the line will add a low psi blower. But for now I want a cam that would rip in the street but still have enough low with my gears with my systemax and TFS heads. But not sure which rockers to use 1.6 or 1.7's

I fucked up. I meant a 1 5/8 would be a better choice.
Volumetric efficiency.*
He's gonna want back pressure considering its still a stock 302 bottom end.

Not custom for your setup if you change something after you order the cam,

So, After going back and forth on what I want out of this build I have come to the conclusion that I will sell off my nitrous kit I have and lean towards a blower instead "BUT," The blower will be bought LATER...about six months or so maybe even later.

That being said, the car is still a street car, stock bottom, TFS, Systemax, 1 3/4 Long Tubes and 3.55's...EXACTLY whats the difference in (hp and tq) between the n41 and b31 in either N/A or Blown??? Is there that much of a difference that would make me wish I went with one over the other after I installed it? I dont want to mill the heads for the N41 cam if they are straight, just want to keep compression stock but get as much power out of my sock botttom end.

Second, After this long post (Again I really appreciate everyone that has read and gave there advice) I need to buy a cam that I will be happy with. I guess what I want is one that will work awesome N/A and hit my desired 450rwhp goal with the blower. That would make more sense right? Or, work good NA and Awsome with the blower???

BUT...Wouldnt dailing up more "PSI" on the blower make up the difference on the cam that would work Awsome N/A??? So which one..

Becareful running a spacer on the holley sytemax, the ears of the upper intake are known to break, if you over tighten the bolts, i think holley doesnt recomend a spacer just for that reason....2 inches is a hell of a big spacer, i didnt even know they made them that big.

Im going with the B-31...Brian At Anderson's really made my mind on it especially if my plans are to add a blower. Besides the difference N/A going with the N-41 over the B-31 is going to be around 10HP...Not really worth it if its going to perform much better with the B-31 Blown.

So that being said does anyone have a B-31 for sale???
