1982 GT --- What Are the Limitations

I just picked up an 82 for a real good price.

I am new to the Fox Body, so I have some newbie questions of course. I see that some of the mod parts at Summit Racing don't say they are compatible with the 82 but instead start with the 83 or in some cases the 86.

My question: Besides the 2bl carb and intake and exhaust dumping out on the driver side (one side) on the 82, is there anything preventing one from using the 83-86 model upgrades applicable to carbed cars? (exhaust headers, 4bl intake and carb, etc.) ?

That's what I wanted to here!

I always wanted to take a well worn car and build it into something nice. Now that I am retired, I may just do that with this 82. Thanks for your time and knowledge!

I have always liked the 82's but 86er is right

anything made for a carbed 302 should transfer because a carbed 302 is bassicly the same from 68 to 85 exluding the few extra electrical components

Pictures can be deceiving. This Stang needs a good bit of cosmetic work not to mention a new manual tranny.

To start with cosmetics: Can someone recommend a good source for buying a replacement grill and body side moldings? Else, what is the best way to restore those?
