Front Control Arms.

Ok so I wanted the 87-93 brakes on my 83 so I swiped some control arms and spindles from the local crazy rays. I decided to replace the bushings while I had them out and used a ball joint press to start removing them. The damn control arm bent before the bushing would budge. I still have the ones on the 83. Are the 83 and 87 arms the same? I was told they are shorter?

Any other way to get these bushings out besides a torch? I was looking into after market ones, but damn 400$ seems a bit expensive for non coil over arms.

Cant tell you about a arm length, but if you want the bushing out without using a torch, you can just use a drill bit and drill through the bushing and let the bit just walk around the circumference of the hole. Should chew right through it if you get one a size smaller than the thickness of the bushing.

lol funny because I broke two 1/2 rachet wrenches and a Napa 1/2 breaker bar trying to put my new ball joints in... Needless to say my dad was telling me they weren't seated when infact they were. Crushed the ball joint while literally exploding pieces with lots of firey sparks of the breaker bar into my dad. I had a pipe on it for leverage but man... that a A-arm took some force! Those ball joint presses are no joke either!
