Nitrous Kits??

Alright so ive been thinking about going over to a nitrous kit for next season. Motor consists of...

Stock 86 Longblock
Edelbrock Intake
Edelbrock Carb
Tubular Headers

Its got a C4 trans in it also. Thinking about going with a cheap 2500-3200 stall convertor. What nitrous kits are there that will work with my Edelbrock carb? I see lots for Holleys. Max shot I would want to use would be a 150. Not looking for a big dollar kit, plan to boost it in future years. Also do I need a fancy nitrous convetor? New to the nitrous stuff.

Thanks...
Brett.

I would recommend a nitrous converter as the car will act totally different on a non-nitrous converter.

on motor it would be nice and tight, but when you hit the nitrous, it would flash higher.

I recommend buying a used nitrous kit, and then a plate for your setup.
I will be selling two full nitrous kits, and you could buy a nitrous plate for your carb/intake for next to nothing on ebay.

you have any other pictures of your wagon? I have a soft spot for wagons, I daily drive a 1995 buick roadmaster wagon that one day I will put a turbo on.

also what's it run on motor?

I used a dry-shot ebay setup that was designed for Hondas for a little while, then upgraded to a Zex kit for a few months. I added a window switch to the setup as well.

I ended up selling everything off though so I could put some money away for coil overs.

Thanks for the info guys, just finished talking to a friend of mine and im going to buy his new in box sniper kit for $300. Cant beat that price. Already may have tracked down a Convertor to. Everything on this car is BUDGET so we'll have to see.

As for what its ran (e.t), last time it was ran down the track was probably 5+ years ago and it was somewhere around the 12.90 Range. (Old owner) Consisted of 30x9 slicks (to tall) 3.08 gears, junkyard 302 with a 200'ish shot. Motor only had tubulars and a cheap carb and intake.

The new set-up is another junkyard pull with fresh gaskets, new oilpan, fancy Ford Racing Valve covers ( ) Edelbrock intake and carb, banged up gt-tubulars, NOS Sniper kit, C4 with stall convertor, HEI distibutor, and MSD wires, 4.10's, and hopefully a 275-60 radial. Car is pretty much gutted (though im putting and interior back in it). Hoping to run mid 12's for sure. Most expensive part of this build is the nitrous kit costing $300

12.9 run

Dog dishes and old slicks.

29x10.5W Slick. Stock suspension, stock wheel wells.

Motor in the car.

Nice!

Body seems fairly strait for its year and all.

Are they unibody or body on frame? it seems to launch pretty good! also do you know the weight of the car currently?

What size shot are you planning? i would think a 150 would be plenty for your goals. Would love to see more as you go along!

Plate is no longer with the car, unfortunately.

Body is so-so. Car has tons of puddy in it though. Hopefully going to have the bodywork done in the spring. Also got my fingers crossed on getting a 12pt in it. Pintos are uni-bodies.

Already picked up my Sniper kit and have the plate and solenoids all set-up. Just have to wait for spring to install the bottle and wire it up.

Brett.

I'm on this section daily. It's more about the motor than the body.
Good luck on the spray man! Just do it right the first time and dont cheap out

Might look at another carb for it, dont really know that I like this Edelbrock 600. I have to run to tall of a carb spacer for the linkages to clear my valve covers. And im Trying to keep the height as low as possible.
As for weight. I have no idea what it weighs. Car has 2 buckets in it right now with no carpet or anything. Going to get carpet and a backseat in it this season though hopefully. Hope to be sitting around 3000#

Well all my motor stuff is sold and im going a whole different route. Didnt like my untested 302 and decided to sell it all since it owes me nothing. Looking to do a 347+ nitrous motor. Car should be in the 11's with no issues on the 150 jet.

Car from factory is supposed to weigh in right around 2650-2750#. With my in it im hoping to sit right around 3000. Not really sure if you guys are interested in this build, but figured id update you guys on the progress. Might start its own "build thread".

Throw a 9.5 deck in there. Much stronger block and more inches

302 with decent heads and cam can ingest plenty of nitrous to blow the block.

H/C/I 302 with a 200 shot will be plenty to run 10's if you got the rest of the car set up right.

347 is wasted money IMO.....

We have a few 347 cars around here. They make TONS of power. We got 2 foxs playing with a conservative tune running mid-high 8's in full street trim all steel except for the hoods. One car still has iron heads on it!

As for other purchases I should be getting a Mildon pan soon, also picking up an electric pump and regulator tomorrow probably.

Those guys running 8s have aftermarket blocks though....and if you do an aftermarket block, get a dart and just go for a 363
