Stock 85 ignition removal? MSD 6al questions
Im running an MSD 6al box and distributor. All the stock ignition is still sitting in the engine compartment, and when i tried unplugging it and taking it out the car won't turnover. What do i need to do to remove it?
I don't think my msd is wired correctly because it doesn't fire up until you let off the start position in the key. any ideas? |

You should beable to just take it all out... You sure you arent taking a starter relay wire out?
Next MSD box needs a switched 12vs that stays hot while in the start position... Right now it sounds like its wired to only be on when the car has the igintion in the "run" postion, not the "start" postion...

it is wired to only be on in the start position... i was trying to rewire it into the stock ignition that had 12v in the "start" and "run" position...where is it wired that its only hot in "run"? i apologize but i got the car like this and the guy told me thats just how the MSD box worked, but i was suspicious
all i did was unplug the "duraspark ignition" module from the connectors and when i tried to start it again it wouldn't even roll over...where do i need to remove it in the wiring harness? any ideas? |
