308 Questions
New here im not a troll or nothing sorry my first post is going to contain a question lol... i frequent alot of forums nice to meet yall ive heard people on MM are fairly legit so whatsup everyone =))
down to business tho I got a freshly machined 308 with a bunch of other supporting stuff to go with it (mostly stock) I wanted to make a street-able fast car but ive heard so much bad stuff about 308's that im not sure if i wanna use it now. Whats everyone opinion can a 308 with stock 87 E7 heads and mostly stock everything else might get a VERY mild cam how well would it handle a 125 wet shot you think? (I'm not TRYING to advertise but if anyone else would want this 308 and all the shit to go with it I'd much rather sell it so i can start over with a fresh 302 if maybe interested PM me) Last edited by 70-yenko-nova; December 25th, 2011 at 12:37 AM. |

It'll take a 125 shot all day long.

I'll go ahead and say it before someone else, you might as well ditch the stock heads while you have it apart......

id prefer wide ratio. My dad isnt a for person and he said the toploader was pretty damn stout. He also said it was behind the Cobra and Boss . For him to talk highly of it means its legit lol. can you tell me about yours . is it pretty worn out or going to need something perhaps?
And LSX i've been told to ditch them but some people say the 87 heads were alright for what i want. but if you dont think so what heads would you recommend. Im looking for about 300ish N/A then a 125 on top. I'm really new to the Ford Game though. So I'm learning everyday |

Mine is a wide ratio, and everything is fresh. I rebuilt it about a year ago, and yes, they're stout. Mine is a stock small input, small output, and it's seen a lot of 1.50 60's, pulling the front tires, and it's never broken anything, and my car is 3460 lbs race weight. I haven't decided if I want to sell mine yet or not, but I may know a few people. Toploaders are expensive though, so be ready to pay.

how expensive we talking? And slow down guys never claimed to have one. Friend of my fathers has a Yenko Clone. I went for a ride in it and back when i joined streetfire.net years back i needed a name so i used his car. Last time I rode with him he said he didn't want pictures because he didn't want his car and what its got on the internet people could maybe find it and steal it and strip it/ vandalize it/ etc. I guess its an old school thing. My dads the same way.
70-yenko-nova is my name for hondatech the late streetfire.net legacygt.com tamparacing.com, here, and handful more other forums

For a toploader that's ready to bolt in, you'd be doing good to get be for less than $750. I've seen them in the $1000s range, depending on the tag number, and what it is. Remember, you're fighting collectors for them.
