Copper vs. Aluminum heater core
So i had the dash down this weekend trying to find some electrical short behind the dashboard, and it seemed like the perfect time to change the heater core that had been bypassed quite a few years ago. I went to the Ford dealership, but they wanted $150 for the OEM copper heater core. Riebes wanted $30 for an aluminum one that did not have the support on the dog legged tube.
Is it worth getting the copper one, or should I go with the cheper aluminum one? which one will probably last longer, because I really don't want to have to tear the dash apart again anytime soon. |

$30 aluminum is the better bet. I just did mine a couple weeks ago.

id trust copper over aluminum but if copper is 130 bucks and the aluminum is 30 bucks, then id go with aluminum just for cost reason

IF you take the cluster out the cable is right there the whole dash doesnt have to come out.

It's just a bitch to squeeze the speedo connector sometimes. If you have the new one to look at to see what to squeeze, it will make your life easier. Otherwise it's a cake job.
