88 Mustang Rearend Swap


I own a 88 mustang GT convertible, and I have found a rearend out of a 93 cobra. The cobra rearend has disk brakes and the owner installed 3.73 gear set. Before I purchase the rearend I have a few concerns and questions I was hoping you guys could help with. The cobra rearend is .75" wider on each side due to the axles, could I use my stock axles to keep the rear wheels from sticking out? I also know I have to replace the Master cylinder any idea what else would need to be replaced? Thanks for any help you can give me.

im not sure but i think the cobra rear axles are 5 lug and yours is 4 lug

the cobra axles are 3/4" longer, according to other mustang sites.

Maybe it's because of the disc brake setup. The SN rear's are 3/4 inch wider too.

Only the Cobra R was 5 lug, lol. Actually a common mistake people make.
