Vortech V3Sci install
Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase a new Vortech V3 SCi kit (5-6psi) and need some questions answered. My car has a handful of bolt-ons, and this kit is designed for a 100% stock car. I already know I'm going to a different power tube (MAF to charger) Also was planning to install a 255LPH fuel pump and 42# injectors at the same time. I have a 76mm MAF from C&L, is an 80MM MAF going to make a difference? I've been reading peoples suggestions to not using the FMU provided in the kit, and to have custom chip burned and tuned on the dyno. Will the dyno tune and custom chip compensate for both my timing reduction and needed fuel? Is there any other parts I'd need? Any other suggestions would be helpful.

heres a suggestion..........C&L maffs suck big time and there reading are all over the place, I wouldnt use it. Google them and youll see what im talking about or just search this forum.
and yes i stay away from the fmu, with the 42lb injectors you wont need it any ways, and a dyno tune i think is the way to go. If your still running the stock TB and egr spacer i doubt a 80mm maff will really help, but regarless i still say to ditch the C&L maff EDIT: ( i re-read my post and i think i came across as a dick....sorry, didnt mean to...lol) so are you keeping every thing else stock ?

I didnt feel like posting all my modifications at the time, but forgot that everyone asks lol So here they are:
75mm TB, GT40 intake, Windsor JR heads, 76mm MAF C&L w/ C&L intake tube, x-cam w/ 1.7 Rockers, Longtube headers, adjustable fuel regulator w/ 24# injectors. I agree and have read lots of forums about the C&L MAF, but its what came on the car so I just ran it. I've heard lots of good stuff about the pro-M, maybe that'll be my route.

Yes the tune will take care of the fuel, and ignition timing. Just don't play with the fuel pressure or adjust the base timing after the tune or you'll throw it all out the window. Shoot over to pops racing and talk with them about it. They're located in Rochester as well.

Thanks Fogged306 for the information. I gave Adam a call, and he gladly spoke with me about my setup and ran me through all the details. He seemed very reasonable in price, and definitely felt re-assured knowing he has tuned multiple set-ups like mine. I gave him your user name as my reference. Thanks!
