89 5.0 with tire rub issues

Hello everyone. I hope you can help me.
I have read countless articles about others Mustangs VERY similar to my own and with similar mods that I have who do not have this issue.
Let me layout what I have and what has been done to my vehicle (suspension and tire wise).
I have an 89 GT Automatic. I have:
Maximum Motorsport 4 point K member bracket,
Subframe connectors,
Strut tower brace to (to fit around a GT40 intake),
KYB shocks and struts,
Eibach sports spring kit,
Wilwood 5 lug 4 piston brake kits (front and rear)
Caster camber plates,
battery relocated to the rear (incase weight has any issue here),
Poly bushings on all locations.
Cobra R replica rims from Americas tire 17X9 ,
245/45/17 tires.
Once I got the tires on I could not drive it. The front tires rubbed the front fender BIG TIME! Mostly on the outside edge of the tire. I have read many people that have this Tire size, Spring, strut combo without an issue. What could me my problem? I do not recall the back spacing off hand on the wheels but I know the brakes moved it in .25 I believe.
Could it be an allignment issue? I have not had it professionally aligned (just old school garage mechanic method) since having the brakes swapped.
I have ended up swapping the tire to a 35 series tire but it rides horrible. I want more tire on there.
SINCE I AM HERE, I also need advice on Bumpsteer tirerod ends. I get some back sounds when turning very sharp that I think may be fixed with these? Any advice on that also?
Anyone have any ideas? Please let me know.
Thanks!

I know that in 1991 they did some thing to the wheel wells to allow for the factory 16" wheels, so I take that to mean that 1991 and newer can take a bigger wheel then 1990 an older

Ryan is correct. In 91, the wheel wells are larger. A 17x8 front wheel works better for your year of car. If you really want it all, change your front fenders.

Also, bump steer is when you go over a bump and the steering wheel jerks. Not sure what you are describing.

So I could...

Is it just the inner fender they swapped on the 91's? Could I swap that out on my car? I am thinking of getting a new hood and front bumper. If I have it that far apart already.... By saying 'if I' I mean the person doing the work, not ME.
I tried to get a matching rim in a 8 inch and could not locate them. I feel like I keep throwing good money on bad. I think that is the name of the game though huh?

I would have gotten the 91 but I could not find it in 89 when I bought this one, and I looked HIGH AND LOW! LOL

Outer fender. The metal one, lol. Had your car since it was new? That's awesome! The 89 was a great year anyway, Mass air and tilt steering, lol. In your post, you said the wheels were from 'Americas'. Where are you located?

Is the front fender the only thing that ford did on a 91 that allowed for a bigger wheel ? cuz i think i read some where that the plastic fender liner was also different, not sure if theres any thing else
