shift linkage hitting h-pipe. wont shift!!

OK so its a 91 auto and I have a 2.5 in off road h-pipe. Well I went inside Walmart. When I came out my car will only shift to reverse. I can keep going down but it wont budge from reverse well I got under there and looked seems that the linkage on the Tranny is hitting the exhaust. So I pried it to drive just to get it home. But now it wont shift out of drive. Has anybody else had this problem? What did you do to fix it?

Just drive everywhere in reverse?

Get under there and loosen the bolts on the exhaust then move it to where there's enough clearance for the shift linkage and tighten it back up, and try not to let it pull back towards it. tighten them evenly

Yea I tried that. It didn't work what I had to do was just bend the linkage. I got it working just not properly. Looks like I need a new cable mine is worn and flimsy and bends so it wont go into park. I tried adjusting it. It didn't help just bent more so now I only have R N OD lost d and park. I never had one. My shifter has to much play. So I ordered new cable and b&m shifter.
