Just Got My New Fox, Help??

Hey guys, new to a 5.0... Originally owned a 4 banger when i was younger. Im looking to make my mustang around 400rwhp...I am a mechanic and want a reliable car i can drive to work.. My uncle has a 91(mine is a 93lx) he put a vortech on it and had nothing but problems.. I know from other cars, a majority of it, is the tune.. He did have a 306 i believe with gt40 heads and numeruos other mods.. Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanx...

Whats your budget. 450rwhp is going to be expensive n/a, a power adder will be the cheapest to reach that goal

450whp is at that danger point. Personally I would def go power adder. Nitrous for 300whp is what I'm doing right now. For 300-400whp I would probably go Vortech , beyond that though I would only go Single turbo. That way cruise all day and turn the wick up with the push of a pedal and blow peoples doors off.

Lowest budget possible and want's to tuck 18's without body mods... hmmm. Shorter control arms and narrowed rear sound cheap depending on width/backspace of the afforementioned 18's. Good luck with your goals.

You've got some lofty goals, that's for sure. I would agree with the other folks - if you're going to be doing speeds like that and turning, I'd recommend some top quality parts.

In all seriousness, it's way cheaper to buy a car that someone has already spent a fortune on rather than build the car. If you're a mechanic you've got a leg up, but I would still argue that the street value of used parts far exceeds the labor value (and time) of doing it yourself (while still paying retail value for parts). I know recommending you sell your current car and buy a different one is asinine, but if your two priorities are speed and budget, it's technically way cheaper to just buy a fast car.

As soon as you get those free 18” Cobra R rims sell them. There I just helped you stay within your lowest budget possible policy.
