K-Member Question
For you vets this may come across as a stupid question.
Car is apart and the K member is right there. Is it worth going to a tube member if I am not road racing? If I so swap out to I have to upgrade anything else? Thanks, |

What are your goals for the car?
Daily Driver? Autox, drag race? If its just a dd, then it really doesnt pay. They are lighter, and make access to certain parts much easier (at least on a new edge). If money is no object, and your just building a nice street car, then I would say sure. Go for it. And I imagine your next question will be "which one". You will get 10 different answers on this. If it were me, and I was building a nice street/strip daily driver, I"d get the whole UPR kit, with coil overs. Its like 6-700 bucks, and will meet all of your needs. Good luck.

The tubular k-member will save weight up front for drag racing if that is the road your going down. On the other hand if your plan a more road race application a tubular k can benefit the car with increased handling characteristics do to the fact it will correct the front geometry of the the suspension.
The issue I see is it leaves the oil pan exposed to potential damage etc.

If its right there just clean it up and paint it. I was debating this for forever as well and decided not to. for now at least. Wasn't worth it for me at the time.
