Max backspace on a 15x10 wheel
So I've got these Racestar 15x10 (7.5" BS) dragstars for my 09, but since I rarely use them on that car I was think about putting them on my notch. I see most 15x10's on foxes have 6.5" BS and while I guess I could run spacers, I don't feel safe with an entire inch spacer. How much room is there between the well and inner sidewall with a 15x10/6.5"bs? Enough room for another inch of wheel? The tires on my 15's are 275/60 btw so they're not too terribly beefy.

This I know, a 7.5 backspace will not fit. My new wheels are in my garage sitting next to my car (15x10 w/6.5 bs) but I'm not ambitious at the moment

If you can stand to wait, I'll check for you tomorrow after work. The tires that are on the wheels right now are 275 60 15's.

Hey scott, is the goal to get as close to a 28 inch tall tire as you can. Cuz i think the 60 series tire is 27. Some thing inches, right ?

No, I actually would have liked to start with a 26 inch tall tire since my current rear is 3.55 and the project vert I have that I'm gonna steal the rear out of has 3.73's in it. But these were included in the deal, so I'm not gonna bitch

Like i told you before i have 3:55 new in the box, but at this point im thinking of selling those and going with 3:73. So your saying that 26 inch tall tires is a better choice ? So why does every one talk about a 28 inch tire ? Sorry im new to this shit

I really don't know all the in's and out's of tires and sizes yet, but I do know that you can adjust your tire height for changing your rpm when you cross the line. Like as in being at the end of your powerband in that gear. As in slicks, I imagine that a taller tire could have more bite cuz it could wrinkle the taller sidewall better than a shorter one, but I could be wrong about that too. Maybe we should start a tire tech thread, lol. I just wanted to start with a 26 in tall tire to keep my rpms quicker without having really steep gears.

As you can see by the first two pics, there is NO leftover room for anymore than a 6.5 inch backspace with a 275 60 15 on it. We are literally talking a 1/4" or less. I'm mini tubbing to get more room for the future, but you can see what you'll have to work with.
