Sn95 computer tuning

I recently ran into a bit of cash and decided to bolt up some gt40 heads and an e303 cam.

I heard the Sn's are different in that you have to dull down the computers learning in order to get a proper tune. I have access to an OBD1 computer from the stone age, but i'm guessing I need to purchase a special tuning device.

Any good experience with one?

Depends on how hands on you want. Once you get the tune correct, you use the adaptives to your advantage (or you can just turn them off completely with a QH). If you want to do something that you can fine tune very well, get a QuarterHorse, the software for it, and a wideband. Just don't expect it to be easy or take only a few days to get a decent tune running and you'll do ok. If you want something more user friendly, look into an Anderson PMS. The SN computers got a bad rap from the stock tune. It isn't as mod friendly as the fox computers, but once you tune it, it's actually a better platform to use.

If we are talking $1,000 plus for these things I think i'm better off getting a 351 block

QH is 250, software is $130 for both and you can get a wideband for $150 that will work with the QH. Just need to have a laptop already or you are getting up there in price then. Anderson PMS is almost 1k new but you can find older models used for 4-500.

Regardless of what block you get, you've still got to tune it.
