3.73's or 4.10s?

i have an automatic and its my weekend cruiser in the summer. occaisonaly i drive it eveyday depends. i want the best gear to get up quick and high end power isnt really a factor. so whats the best gear ratio for a semi stock AOD weekend cruiser? i was thinkng 4.10s but some people are saying i will be buying new tires every 4 months but i have Nitto NT555's arent those good street radials? also they say my MPG will drop drasticaly and it will turn into a fridy night special instead of a weekend cruiser. any help will be appreciated! thanks.
oh... and im thinking about buying a hurst automatic inline shifter so i can rip through the gears so will traction be a variable?

People are stupid for saying you'll buy new tires every 4 months. Just because you have different gears doesn't mean you floor it all the time. Go for the 4:10s. I wouldn't get anything less in an automatic.

In an auto? 4.10 for sure. If it's going to see more race action 4.30's!

4.10 rear end gear kit. Find a reputable installer. You won’t be able to wipe the smile off your face. Keep in mind if you’re thinking about a five lug conversion this is the time to do it.

I have a 5 speed and I use 4.10's and I love it. So I can't imagine 4.10's in an auto being to much. I think that if you go 3.73's your going to regret it and wish you went the other route.

I have 4.10's in mine with an aod and i love it. It's not bad running around town. I wanna say it turns about 2500 rpm at 70 mph roughly. Just make sure whoever puts them in sets them up right. The ones in my car now are very noisy so i'm getting ready to have a new set put in and done right.

You’ll need to swap the speedo gear as well to read proper MPH.
