B&M hammer shifter or B&M mega shifter??


All I want to know is do each of them have a switch for overdrive? And if so where is it? Like is it the red button on the hammer? Im going with 4.10 gears so I need overdrive for the highway. Anybody use it for AOD trannys?

AOD has no switch for OD, unless it has an aftermarket valve body. AODE/4R70W in the 94 and up cars has a OD on/off switch.

I just ment on the b&m shifters how do you shift into overdrive? Since it doesnt have drive and overdrive like the stock shifter

They are just the same as a stock shifter, except the shifter indicates 1-2-3 instead of 1-D-OD. They are kind of a waist on a stock AOD anyway, because if you manually shift 1-2 at say 5000rpm, the AOD will skip 2nd and go directly to 3rd, no matter what shifter you have hooked to it. Some people do the shuttle shift, which is shift 1-2 manually @ 5000 as soon as you feel 2nd pull the shifter back into 1st, the trans should stay in 2nd until you manually shift again, then it will go to 3rd. The hot setup would be to install a Trans Go AOD-HP shift that come with a new manual vavle, so you can hold 1-2-3 to what ever rpm you want, OD will not engauge with your foot to the floor. The kit also comes with a high up shift govener kit that allows you to leave the shifter in D and the trans will shift itself between 5500-5800 rpms(my favorite) depending on how the TV cable is adjusted. Or you could buy a Lentech, PA, Art Carr, etc. vavle body that will hold 1-2-3 manually and OD is engauged electronicly with a toggle switch/button.

So if i buy the PA valve body and the shifter with the switch il be good? I just wana be able to control more gears then 1st and drive then over drive.

Yep, that would be the hot setup. And while you're in there put yourself a good stall converter in. Precision Industries Stallion gets my vote!
