Need some advice!!!

Hey fellas, Im in the middle of a H/C/I swap and need some help. I'm following the directions from http://www.allfordmustangs.com/techa...intakeswap.pdf
I'm to the point where I'm about to pull the cam, and replace the timing chain set.
Should I cut the gasket like it says in steps 42-43, or is it necessary to try to replace the whole oil pan gasket? I don't really have access to a lift. Any info or inputs are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

If you have the blue gasket like in the pic, don't cut it, just re goop it. If you have a crappy cork one like what they are putting in, then just cut it. It's almost impssible to replace the oil pan gasket while the motor is in the car.

Thanks, FastStang. It kinda raised some flags when I saw that I would be cutting the gasket. Didn't quite know what to think about that.
