Heads?

Im looking for a good set of heads besides gt40s that are on the cheaper side. Im probably going to go with gt40s but i want to see what my other options are before i buy anything. Thanks

Don't know what you're looking to spend, or if you want new or used, but when I was shopping around, I remember seeing some Edelbrock Street Performers (I think they were called) for around $650 new. Don't know much about them, but may be worth looking into.

Ok ill look into it. Im looking to spend as much as 1000$ new or used haha. Also need to find a cam and intake that go well with the setup.

Are looking for $1000 for heads, cam and intake? Or just the heads? There's a guy selling a set of trick flow 170's in the classifieds on this site for $1000 still in the wrapping. Thats what I'm in the process of installing on my car. I like to check the Corral classifieds also.

1000$ for heads only. Damn thanks ill take a look at that.

I just saw a set of Twisted Wedge 170's on Corral.net for $800. They just came from the machine shop with a fresh valve job, etc!

You can buy used TWs for $1000 or less all day, and that's the way to go. I didn't pay much more than that for my Fox Lake TWs, with a bunch of nice goodies on them.

Stock bottom end car? Trick flow 170s used...get a nice valve job with springs to match a cam. Go custom for your cam. Something like 224/226 @.050 duration and .550/.555 lift on a 112 LSA. Depends on the exhaust you have and how high you're looking to spin too. As for an I take, you cant go wrong with a trick flow r series bolted to the 170s..
